3&4 rotation immersion

in week 8 and 9 I did immersion about Jono and Amy. This immersion was about building a new playground. We went to the playground to take notes. The first part was about playground designs and what people want on a playground. The second part was about designing it and 3d printing.

Bruce Mason Theatre trip

On the 19th of September 2017, we went to the bruce mason theatre. There were 3 workshops there about creativity.  The first rotation is the theatre setup one. We had to pick lighting, backstage stuff, and theatre manager. I picked lighting. The 2nd rotation was about audio we had to act what it was telling us to do. The last rotation was about movement. there were disabled people dancing there and we had to do this follow the leader thing with them. I have enjoyed this day and I will look forward to the next trips :)

2nd rotation immersion

In week 7&8 I did immersion with Jess and Sarah. we were learning about dance and drama. We learnt the basics of drama and what we had to do. We had to present a skit about sorry, love and winter it went pretty well for me. On the last week of this immersion, we learnt the basics of dance and we had to do freeze frames.

1st rotation immersion

In week 7 I did immersion with Nicole. We were learning about New Zealand and Hobsonville Point timeline. We looked at a different special event that made history and we also had to write what history means. We played a game that taught us about the timeline about Hobsonville Point.

Projects

In term 3 I have been involved in a project where I followed the scientific method to complete a science fair investigating how eggs float. I learnt about density and how salt makes things float on water. My projects went quite well because I planned what to do next and came up with a backup plan but next time I will make sure that I will manage my time better.

Adventure park

last week on the 1st of September we went to Silverdale adventure park. it took about 30 minutes to get there. once we got there one of the staff introduced to our class about the park. there were lots of rides like the luge, zip line shooting, star( bungee jumping) and 4d theatre. my favourite ride is the luge, the luge is a cart ride that has no engine and it goes down hill. it was a great day at the park and I had a lot of fun.

fair trade project reflection + movie

yesterday we presented our project to the class. It was a short film involving Aman, David, Evan, Xanthe, and Mackenzie. It was a film about fairtrade chocolate and how children have to work long hours in the sun collecting cocoa. To make it worse they only get 2$ at the end of the day. Fairtrade chocolate helps them out by paying the right amount of money to cocoa farmers.
